Surveys & Monitoring

Canning-gyr-site-ANWR

WWC routinely performs a variety of wildlife and vegetation baseline surveys and assessments for projects from small gravel pits to multiple forms of large-scale energy development.  We are well-versed in the changing protocols for sensitive wildlife species, as well as specialized techniques for species such as raptors, mountain plovers and pygmy rabbits.

One of our fields of special interest is with raptors and their populations.  WWC has conducted hundreds of raptor surveys, with many including banding, telemetry and blood work.  While centered on the northern Rockies, we have worked from the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska to the coastlines of Florida and Texas, and many places in between.  We have targeted experience trapping and handling golden eagles, northern goshawks, peregrine falcons and other species.
